You can send a private message to anyone on the system.

To send a private message to anyone on the system:
- find their home page (eg click on their avatar wherever you see it)
- click on the 'message' link on the side panel
- type and post a message, as normal
managing your messages
Any new private messages, or replies to your messages, will be notified on the top of the main pages in the site (but only if you are logged in!). When you view them, they notification will disappear, and they be marked as 'read'.
To see all messages sent and received, go to your home page, and click on 'messages' on the side panel. Your messages and replies are stored as conversations, just as they appear when you read and write them. Your messages list contains these conversations, not every single message and reply. You can also search for a particular message: the search facility interrogates all private messages and private (eg group) posts which you have access to, as well as all public posts.
You can delete message conversations using the delete button on the side panel. The other party to the conversation will still have access to the conversation you have deleted.
